I have the older kit, and it's great to see a kit built custom for a car. I've had bags on a different car with sensors, and each sensor had to have custom brackets fabricated. This kit comes with custom-made brackets already. If you've installed air ride in your car before, you will use your knowledge and YouTube videos to figure it out. Don't rely on the torque specs from the video; double-check the Tesla service website for those. The toughest part is locating the three separate videos to install everything and all the panels you have to take off on the Tesla. I wish there were printed instructions on a PDF or something that I could follow while installing. Overall very pleased!
I am giving 2 star just because Tom is really good man and helped me much with installation.About air suspension. The difference between oem and air suspension comfort is less then ever you think.Installation is hard enough, when installed started to hear some knocking noises, been to wheel allighment but yay got a camber differences which is pulling car to right side, even when you pay more then 3.000 pound they send me free key remote control without battery. So i am sorry i cant lie i just think i have paid over 3000£ just to have fun when car goes down or up.For about comfor if there is a rating i am giving 2 out of 10.Sorry i am not happy.Installation guide is not enough and many things are disconnected upon delivery (which is good to save item) but man why you dont mention that or write somewhere took 3 hours to find it out,Found with help from Tom.So if you guys want to see the car goes down and up i reccomend this is item,if you looking for comfort like me,yull find unexpected noises and no comfort.
Hello Ali
Really sorry to see the 2 star review after we spent so much time chatting on WhatsApp to get you sorted.
I’d like to clear a few things up from my end:
DIY vs. Professional Install: I always recommend our mobile installer because they’ve done 15+ kits and takes them about 5-6 hours. Since you decided to install it yourself, it was going to be a bit more of a challenge, but I stayed on hand to help you troubleshoot through the whole process.
Missing Parts/Disconnected Lines: We have to ship the kit with the internal airline disconnected because couriers and customs are notorious for breaking them. Same goes for the key-fob battery, regulations won't let us ship them. It's not a mistake; it's just to make sure the kit actually gets to you in one piece.
Comfort & Adjustment: We did talk about the dampening. The ride is fully adjustable if it feels too firm, you can turn the dials anti-clockwise to soften it up. I'm happy to discuss this on WhatsApp if that would help? It's also worth checking the ride height as well, if it's sitting higher than it should, this means more air will be in the airbags, which will give you a firmer ride. So make sure the ride height is correct to what we recommend (Model Y Height Sensor Link Length: F: 18.5mm R: 20mm) and check the dampening on all corners to make sure it's the same, you can put it to 4-5 to see how it feels first
Alignment: Any time you swap out a suspension, you need a professional alignment done at your 'OnAir' driving height. If the car is pulling, it’s usually down to the alignment, not the kit itself.
I had been looking at YouTube videos where the owners had the latest year model suspension fitted and thought it would be a great asset to my 2022 Model Y.
After checking prices it became clear that it was not a cheap job if you needed them fitting by a professional which I did ( too old to fit them myself) Fitting them yourself is probably an easy job but if you can’t then I found it a) difficult to buy the part from Tesla ( they wouldn’t fit them) and b) not a lot of garages are prepared to fit them as it’s “An EV” and if they do it’s expensive.
Looking online for more information I found the OnAir suspension kit. I spoke to Tom and he was only too pleased to take me for a ride in his M3 Performance (2019 I think) that it was fitted too. The ride was significantly better than my MY and, for one who also owned an early M3 Performance, it seemed magical.
The overall price of the OnAir, including the fitting, is more than the latest 2025 uprated shocks etc from Tesla but now I’ve had the OnAir system fitted I can whole heartedly recommend it as an option. The ride is so much smoother, quieter with none of the harshness associated with the factory fitted suspension.
The fitter's, two very nice guys, came and fitted it at my home in just 1 , yes one, day. Most garages had quoted me two to three days to fit the Tesla updated ( not uprated ) parts let alone a full air suspension kit.
Overall I can say I’m very satisfied with the company, the kit, and the service provided.
As an aside - there are 3 height setting available and all four shock absorbers are fully adjustable should I feel so inclined to try a track day!
Ive been running the OnAir system on my Model y for 3+ years already and I'm extremely happy with it. I love that its an all-in-one system so I dont have to mess around with piecing a kit together from a bunch of different brands and websites. The install was quick and easy, much easier than a custom kit. The parts all have nice branding and engraving, the whole system feels like an OEM+ kit and what tesla would have done if the Y had an OEM system. On top of all this their warranty and customer service is top notch. I always get quick responses and great service from them. Overall very happy and I would buy this again!
Comfort & Ride
The OnAir Management System completely transforms the driving experience. The ride feels smoother and more controlled, taking the edge off bumps and rough roads. At highway speeds the car stays planted, and around town it glides with an ideal balance of comfort and stability.
Ease of Use
Adjustments are quick and intuitive. The digital controller is clear and responsive, while the Bluetooth app makes it effortless to fine-tune pressures from inside the vehicle. Switching between ride heights or presets takes only a tap—or a quick 5-second hold for a slammed look—so it never feels complicated or distracting.
Features & Practicality
The presets are a real game-changer. Raising the car for driveways or lowering it for a sportier stance is seamless. It also handles daily use beautifully, with automatic rise on startup and drop when parked. Everything feels convenient, polished, and OEM-like in quality.
Overall
This setup makes the car more versatile and enjoyable every day. It enhances comfort, adds flexibility, and is straightforward to live with. For anyone considering a suspension upgrade, it’s refined, reliable, and absolutely worth it.
Huge thank you to EM Performance Hawaii for the flawless installation!
